USING THE SPOONJUICE RECORDS WEBSITE

All you have to do to set up an account is click on the 'Sign Up' link at the top of the site, and it will take you through a step by step process. Fill in your details, and make sure you provide a valid email address, you will receive a confirmation email, with all your details. Please keep this in a safe place, you are automatically given one FREE download so you can see how the service works. Whenever you want to log in, enter the your user name and your password into the panels at the top of every page, once signed in you can access your account details and if you ever need to you can change them, you will also be able to see how many downloads you have in your account. To top up your account once signed in, just click on the link on your account page and that will take you through to the billing area though PAYPAL. The lowest amount you can add to your account is 16 top ups, which costs £4.80 and will give you 16 downloads to your account, fill in your details, and your account will be topped up to the requested amount. You can download as many tracks as you have credits in your account.

Spoonjuice Records is an independent music retailer. All our artists receive 50% of any transactions made and the other 50% are put into :- Promotion, Running Costs of the website and Continual Growth of the Artists and the label. This means all of our artists can carry on funding their musical projects, therefore you will be providing them with the ability to produce more music and secure future releases from them on the Spoonjuice Records Site. Also ensuring new and cutting edge bands and sounds, including the existing bands music will be available to the public. All our artists rely on your support for their growth. We hope you appreciate we have put every effort in making the site easy to use and for the Artists Mp3s to be affordable for people to download, We would appreciate your support and encouragement for the label and the bands, So please respect the Artists and Label by not file sharing.

PLAYING MUSIC

When you click on Listen, you have to wait a few seconds for the track to pre-buffer. The tracks are encoded at a lower sample rate of 32 kbps which allows people with dial up modems to listen. The quality of the streams are a cut down low-fi version and are just a representation of the full Mp3s. Using Listen you will be able to decide whether you want to download the higher quality version. You might be prompted if you would like to open a .wma file in which case click 'Yes' to open the file and this will enable the track to be streamed through your media player without it needing to be downloaded first. If you can't stream the .wma through your media player you can try right clicking the link and choosing 'Save Link As' to your desktop and once downloaded changing the file extension to .wma, the track should then play.


Winamp is a popular choice if you don't have windows media player on your system already,

Once the software is downloaded and installed it should automatically configure within your browser.

We are different to the other major label music download sites, and provide an independant source of fantastic music from the Sheffield area that is available online in the MP3 format. This site has been developed with independant musicians in mind, and promotes artists with a wide range of styles and a passion for music, using current technologies of the internet.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC ON THE INTERNET

This is the future of music and musicians, Artists doing the music they want and that is what is really important for the Artists, so they can develop in their own way, writing about what they want, and not having to commercialise themselves to fit with current trends. They can be more diverse and create new sounds and grooves and keep their artistic freedom. The past decade has brought a revolution within music and the music industry, with such advances as home recording and the internet which has made it more realistic and achievable for musicians to go it alone and not to have to live in hope of the magic deal from the sky. This often never comes for most bands which is a shame, because there is a wealth of fantastic music out there. Unfortunately the Major Record Labels only work on the basis of how much, and how fast can they squeeze cash out of their Artists, which has created a Fast Food type industry that has given us throw away music that months after, its release is highly forgettable. We hope that we can do the opposite to that and offer creative, diverse music that will last.
